CBAP Certification and Course FAQ
What is CBAP?
Certified Business Analysis professional (CBAP) is an IIBA Certification for business analysts. One of the most reputed certifications for the business analysts, CBAP certification tests your understanding of the BA concepts and its usage.
What is the CBAP certification fees?
The CBAP certification fees comprises of two parts. The non-refundable application fee is USD 125 and the examination fee is USD 325 (for IIBA members) and USD 450 (for non-members). The membership fees is different for different countries. The membership fees is dependent on regions. Region 1 membership charges is USD 125, for Region 2 85 and for Region 3 it's USD 55. What is the CBAP eligibility criteria?
The eligibility criteria for CBAP Certification are as follows:
- • Minimum 7500 hours of BA work experience aligned with the BABOK® Guide in the last 10 years
- • Minimum 900 hours in each of four of the six knowledge areas
- • Minimum 35 hours of Professional Development Training in the past four years
- • Two references from a career manager, client or CBAP® recipient
- • Signed Code of Conduct.
What is the CBAP exam format?
As per IIBA website, The CBAP® exam is 3.5 hours long and consists of 120 multiple choice questions. The questions are case study-based (i.e. longer cases (1-1.5 pages) of information) with multiple questions about the case.
Where can I take the CBAP Certification exam?
You can take the CBAP Certification exam at Prometric test centres across the world. To know about it, please visit the Prometric IIBA exam page.

Yes, in fact IIBA itself has provided a set of sample questions. You can access the sample questions below:

Please note that CBAP exam questions are case study based and some of the case studies are long and multiple questions could be based on such case studies.
What’s the difference ECBA Vs CCBA Vs CBAP certifications?
The Entry certification in business analysis (ECBA) is for new business analysts, who are looking to start their career as business analysts. No prior experience is needed. CCBA, on the other hand, requires you to have around 3 years of experience in the business analysis function. CBAP, on the other hand needs you to have at least 5 years of experience in business analysis function. Another difference is the number of hrs of PDUs required for each certifications. You need 21 hrs of PDUs for ECBA and CCBA, whereas you need 35 hrs of PDUs for CBAP certification.
Does this course include practice tests?
Yes, we have created a simulated test environment for you to practice. You can take the test as many times as possible. There are good number of questions in the question bank.
Is there any difference between online training and classroom training?
There is no difference between CBAP online training and CBAP classroom training. The profile of the trainers are the same and the class is conducted on a web meeting platform, where you can interact with the trainer in real time.
How do I know if my experience qualify as business analysis experience?
The best way to know that is to look at the six knowledge areas proposed by IIBA BABOK v3. The knowledge areas are broad topics and cover a lot of business analysis skills. In case, you still have doubt, get in touch with our course advisor.
